Every morning
And every night
Comes the loon…
Wether with sunrise
Or with sunset
She is always diving
Under the water’s gleaming surface…
In the morning we stare at the lone loon
She never fails
Always on time
To watch the crimson sky
And then…
She glides off into the eastern waves…
Just as the world is waking…
And after a long day of fishing
And boating…
The lone loon
Peeps out her head in the western sky…
Just on time…
Then…
As the setting sun is sending strange phantoms dancing across the midnight sea…
The lone loon vanishes into the inky dark
To come again…
